Established in 1989, the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE) is a non-governmental organization that offers cardiac medical services to children with coronary illnesses. CHFE has set out to achieve prompt, affordable, and long-term targets to save lives and educate people on the causes of heart disease. CHFE has been successful in reaching its initial two goals, providing healthcare to 9,500 patients both locally and internationally. However, since 2009, the organization has shifted its focus toward establishing a sustainable cardiac center. The Cardiac Center-Ethiopia, located at the Black Lion Hospital in Addis Ababa, was launched with the support of Addis Ababa University, Chain of Hope, and the public society. Since its inception, the center has provided free medical services to over 9,500 patients, valued at over 40 Million USD in international charges. CHFE continues to work toward its goal of providing long-term cardiac care to the people of Ethiopia
